90’s Revival Girl. I decided to go with my initial inclination and stick with the photographic background. Voila.
Detail from 90’s Revival Girl. Editing a photographed background but can’t decide if I prefer it over a pink vacuum or not. Decision making isn’t my strong suit.

Bugs! These will be links to different photo albums on the Alfred & Alma Insect Shoppe website when I’m done.
One of the greatest benefits of my friendship (I assume) are my top notch birthday illustration skills. See my blog post with additional doll cake photos here.
Just unearthed this old vector drawing I made of Fiona Apple. Seems appropriate to share as it’s finally Fiona season once again. Seeing her in Detroit on July 7th!
Speaking of flowers and patterns, HERE’S A FLOWER PATTERN. I tumbl’d the initial sketch earlier, for comparison’s sake. Not sure it’s finished yet. I doodle and add to it for about ten minutes every so often when I need a break from something else or I’m just feeling bored.
I made my own “Flower Girls” Orla Kiely knock-off pattern using silhouettes of the lined/colored figures I had made based on the silhouettes of girls from Orla Kiely’s print. My girls were wearing her girls, but now my girls can wear themselves. Does that make sense? I’VE COME FULL CIRCLE. What’s cool about having made this pattern for my girls to wear is that by putting the figures back into the jumble I can see how well my drawing relates to it’s inspiration. Which is pretty damn well. Possibly too closely, in fact. I will blog about this and maybe make more sense. Maybe.
Bun in the Oven color comparisons. In the end we went with… none of the above! Final work will be revealed… I have no idea when. Soon-ish, I hope!
